A 14-YEAR-old schoolboy killed his classmate by stabbing him in the eye during a fight over a brownie, cops have said.

The victim, named locally as Brian Angel, also 14, died two days after being knifed in the fight that erupted outside a convenience store in Houston, Texas.

Witnesses say they saw Brian arguing with the suspect about a snack before he got stabbed shortly after school finished.

"It was over a brownie," Brian's friend told ABC. "It was ridiculous."

District Police Chief Paul Cordova said that when Brian was loaded into an ambulance, he still acted as if the fight were continuing.

But police said that the 14-year-old boy, who was a pupil at Jane Long Academy, died from his wounds on Friday.

Brian's aunt told FOX 26 that before he lost consciousness, he kept saying he was going to be okay.

LAST WORDS
She says his last words were directed at his older brother - telling him to take care of their youngest brother, mum and dad.

The 14-year-old suspect fled from the scene following the stabbing, but he has since been charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

The incident is not believed to be gang-related.

A GoFundMe account has been set up to help pay for Brian's funeral expenses.

Houston Independent School District said in a statement: “We are heartbroken to learn that our student has passed away.

“We offer our deepest condolences to his family, friends and all who loved and cared for him.

“We had counselors available at Jane Long Academy this week to offer emotional support to students and staff and they will return after Spring Break.”
