A VIDEO featuring Meghan Markle as part of a UN women’s “potential leaders” campaign has resurfaced.

Royal Instagram fan account “harry_meghan_updates” shared the video in which a pre-royal Meghan stars.

The video, believed to have been filmed in 2015, reportedly aims to encourage women to become leaders.

“We see potential leaders everywhere,” the clip says, along with hashtag #inominateher.

“It’s time for women to see it in themselves.”

Meghan has long been a champion of feminism.

Speaking at the 20th anniversary of the Beijing UN women’s conference in 2015, she said: “I am proud to be a woman and a feminist.”

The Duchess then told the audience she remembered being at school in Los Angeles and seeing a TV ad for a dishwashing liquid with the tagline: “Women all over America are fighting greasy pots and pans.”

“Two boys from my class said, ‘Yeah. That’s where women belong — in the kitchen,’” Meghan told the audience.

“I remember feeling shocked and angry and also just feeling so hurt. It just wasn’t right, and something needed to be done.”

Meghan described how when she got home from school, her dad told her she should write letters about her feelings on the situation.

“My 11-year-old self worked out that if I really wanted someone to hear, well then I should write a letter to the first lady. So off I went scribbling away to our first lady at the time, Hillary Clinton,” Meghan said.

She also wrote to American journalist, Linda Ellerbee who presented a news program aimed at kids, to famous celebrity lawyer, Gloria Allred, as well as to the manufacturer of the dishwashing liquid.

During her speech, Meghan spoke about gender equality, saying it means that Rwandan President Paul Kagame should be equal to the little girl in a refugee camp who dreams of being president and that the UN secretary-general is equal to the UN intern who dreams of shaking his hand.

“It means that a wife is equal to her husband, a sister to her brother — not better, not worse. They are equal,” Meghan said.

Meghan spoke about the UN’s target of 2030 “as the expiration date for gender inequality,” Meghan said, but even though women comprise more than half the world’s population, their voices still go unheard “at the highest levels of decision-making”.

Meghan called for girls and women “to see their value as leaders” and if they can’t “get seats at the table”, to “create their own”.

Meghan also spoke about her now-estranged father, Thomas, saying, “We need more men like my father, who championed my 11-year-old self to stand up for what is right.”
