A RECRUITMENT firm has ignited a sexist row after using an image of a woman in a bikini to promote its company.

Jark Norfolk has come under fire after the controversial advert was sent out to their entire database.

It features an image of a woman in a bikini, and says: “Want to see my white bits?”

Underneath it continues: “Ooops sorry… I meant White Collar Candidates!”

It goes on to enquire if firms need holiday cover, new vacancies or just an “extra set of hands”.

But the ad was poorly received and is said to have been recalled following complaints.

It’s been reported by the Metro angry clients are considering boycotting the firm, claiming they “seriously misjudged” their target audience.

Helen Clements, community investment adviser at Morgan Sindall, wrote on Linkedin: “It is really disappointing that a Norfolk based construction recruitment company thinks that mailers with a woman wearing a bikini and the below statement is appropriate in this day an age.

“We as a sector need to let agencies know that this is not acceptable and avoid using them.’

Ironically, the company’s construction managing director, Kelly Cartwright, acknowledges how hard it is for women for be taken seriously in the industry.

She wrote on LinkedIn: “When you’re a young woman in the male dominated world of building construction recruitment it can be tough.”

According to her page she joined the firm seven years ago when in her early 20s.

It’s been reported Jark Norfolk issued a private apology to their clients.

Fabulous has reached out to the company for comment.
