A RAPPER has been arrested after live-streaming a shootout with police on Instagram and shouting "I'll take one for the team".

Laforest Duron Gray Jr., who goes by the rap name Big LA, had the cops called on him after he was allegedly seen dragging his wife into the street and beating her.

In the live video Gray, 23, can be heard shouting at officers from within a garage before a series of gunshots.

No one was shot in the incident in Windermere in Orange County, Florida shortly before 8pm on Wednesday.

The footage includes sections from an Instagram live video posted by Gray, a well as from police body cameras from officers who stood outside the garage.

It shows Gray continually shouts insults at cops as his wife attempts to calm him down.

TAKING ONE FOR THE TEAM
He repeatedly tells viewers on Instagram they're going to "see this live" and that he will "take one for the team".

Officers demanded he put his hands up and come out from behind a yellow car in the garage, but when he refuses a shootout begins.

Cops claim Gray fired the first shot before three officers opened fire on the rapper.

Police were called to an apartment complex to reports of a man dragging and beating a woman in the street at 7.55pm, according to the arrest affidavit.

BEAT HIS WIFE
A witness was reportedly driving past when he saw Gray's wife in distress and asked if she needed help.

They claim the woman initially refused before running after them and jumping into the car asking for assistance.

The witness told police Gray ran over to the car, pulled his wife out by the hair and began punching her.

After the shootout cops managed to detain Gray using a dog after he refused to be handcuffed.

He was then taken to Orlando Regional Medical Centre to be treated for injuries resulting from a dog bite.

Gray is currently being held at Orange County Jail on charges of attempted first-degree murder of a law enforcement officer with a firearm, domestic violence battery, resisting an officer with violence and a burglary of conveyance.
