RADIO 1 star Scott Mills could quit for rival Heart after 20 years at the BBC.

Bosses at the commercial station want him to host their breakfast show.

But Scott, 44, whose award-winning show runs from 1-4pm Monday to Thursday, is holding out for an improved BBC deal.

A source said: “Negotiations are coming shortly, probably in the New Year. Scott loves working at the BBC but he’s obviously very flattered to hear a commercial station is interested.

The team at Global, who own Heart, have been fans for some time and have formally approached him.”

Scott, also presents The Official Chart show, the Eurovision semis on TV, and the Strictly podcast.

A Beeb insider said: “We think Scott is happy where he is and hopefully he has many more years ahead of him at the BBC.”
