BRITISH passengers were last night evacuated from a plane at Prague airport after a 'mid-air bomb threat'.

The captain told frightened holidaymakers a “threatening note” had been found on the aircraft and travellers were held for four hours.

Cops searched the Jet2 plane and found drawing of a bomb inside a toilet.

Passenger Guy Garson boarded the plane in Manchester and said an air hostess was "terrified" when she told everyone to leave the plane "as soon as possible".

He said: "Bomb threat on the plane as soon as we landed in Prague. Air hostess sounding terrified on the tannoy telling everyone to leave everything and exit the plane as quick as possible.

"Five hours later we finally got our luggage and can leave the airport."

Truck driver Sam Paxton, 35, told The Sun the captain told passengers about the incident shortly after landing at 6pm.

He said: “I overheard the air hostess say she had noticed it in the toilets. There was a note and it was something to do with a bomb being on board.

“We were taken off the flight and had to leave all our coats and bags there to be searched.

“I know at one point the police were checking CCTV from the plane, but I didn’t see anyone being arrested.”

Fellow passenger Beth Parkinson, 26, said a toilet cubicle at the front of the Jet2 plane was shut for around 30 minutes before the plane landed.

She told the Manchester Evening News: “As soon as we landed the captain said someone had left a threatening note in a toilet and we were not to move and had to leave everything on the plane.

“We don’t know what the threat was. And we haven’t been told anything.

“At the the minute we’re just waiting to collect our bags. They’ve taken all the luggage off the plane and the police have interviewed us one by one while we queue.”

Prague Airport confirmed local police “checked the airport because of a potential bomb threat” and added that “all cabin baggage” needed to be checked.

In a tweet, officials from the busy airport said: “@PolicieCZ checked the aircraft because of potential bomb threat.

“At the moment all cabin baggage need to be checked, estimated time is after 10 pm. Please contact handling employees on site for further information. Thank you.”

The airport added: “Update: All checks are finished with negative results.

“The flight back to Manchester will be operated by backup aircraft around midnight. Departing PAX should contact their handling agents in the gate for additional info."
