President of South Korea Mun Zhe Ying held a meeting on Saturday with a delegation from North Korea headed by the formal head of state, chairman of the presidium of the DPRK Supreme Assembly Kim Yong Nam, and the delegation included the sister of the leader of the DPRK Kim Yong-joon, Renhap agency reported.

The level of the delegation has become the highest since the end of the Korean War. Also the first in the history was the visit of a member of the DPRK leader's family to South Korea.

The head of South Korea met the DPRK delegation in the presidential palace. The parties exchanged handshakes. The delegation invited to the palace includes the chairman of the committee for the peaceful reunification of the country, Lee Song Gwon, and the chairman of the State Committee for Physical Culture and Sports, Chew Hwy.

After the meeting, the parties will go to dinner, which is arranged by the President of South Korea in their honor.

The delegation arrived in South Korea on Friday, attended the opening of the Olympics in Pyeongchang, and then was invited to dinner. On Sunday, the delegation will complete the visit and leave for home.

In the Olympics in Pyeongchang will be attended by 22 North Korean athletes. From the DPRK came several hundred fans and the orchestra "Samgyon". He spoke in Gangneung on February 8 and on Sunday will give a concert in Seoul at events dedicated to the holding of the Olympics.

The Olympics in South Korean Pyeongchang are held from 9 to 25 February.
