PIPPA Middleton’s newborn son has relatives in very high places.

But while he’s the nephew of Kate Middleton and cousin of future King Prince George, he won’t be receiving a royal title of his own.

Neither Pippa, 35, nor her husband James Matthews have titles, so they can’t pass one down.

And while Pippa is Kate’s younger sister, she isn’t technically a member of the Royal Family.

“Pippa is Mrs James Matthews, [so] her kids will be Master or Miss Christian name Matthews,” Marlene Koenig – royal historian and writer of the Royal Musings blog – tells Town and Country.

“No titles whatsoever.”

However, Pippa could one day have an honorary title, thanks to James’ father’s land acquisitions.

Back in 2008, David Matthews bought a castle and a 10,000-acre plot of land in Scotland.

This led him to acquire the title of Laird of Glen Affric – and eldest son James is in line to inherit the name when he passes away.

Pippa would become the Lady of Glen Affric.

The aristocratic title comes with a long history, and even its own red and green tartan.

Pippa welcomed her first child at the £7,500-a-night Lindo Wing maternity unit yesterday, the same day Meghan Markle and Prince Harry announced their baby news.

The little boy was born at 1.58pm, weighing 8lb 9oz.

As expected, new aunt Kate, 36, is delighted.

Kensington Palace confirmed the happy news, saying in a short statement: “The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are thrilled for Pippa and James.”
