MOSCOW, June 7 - RIA Novosti. Ukrainian parliamentarians appealed to NSDC Secretary Alexander Turchinov demanding urgent measures in connection with the loss of "pro-Ukrainian control" in Odessa. This was reported by Verkhovna Rada deputy Igor Lutsenko in Facebook.

The parliamentarian explained that "terror" against anti-Russian activists in the city is gaining "unprecedented scale." According to Lutsenko, the Odessa authorities support pro-Russian actions and help local anti-Ukrainian organizations.

"We are losing Odessa in the same scenario as the Donbas," Lutsenko said.

He also asked Turchinov to initiate the NSDC meeting on the situation in Odessa, since the loss of control over the "third largest, historically Ukrainian city" poses a direct threat to the national interests of Ukraine.

The Luhansk and Donetsk People's Republics declared independence after a coup in Ukraine in February 2014. In April of the same year, the Kiev authorities began a military operation against them. According to the latest UN data, more than ten thousand people became victims of the conflict.
