PARALYSED gang boss Owen Maguire is homeless — and taking up a bed in a top hospital.

The Irish Sun on Sunday can reveal Maguire, who was blasted six times by a hitman in a botched hit on July 5, is currently being treated at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda, Co Louth.

But the hood — whose gang are involved in a deadly feud in Drogheda with a rival mob — has been unable to find a home adapted for his wheelchair. He was left without anywhere to live after his halting site in Cement Road was shut down.

Instead, Maguire — who remains under armed guard — has been forced to stay at the hospital as his associates continue the series of petrol bombs and arson attacks on rivals.

A source said: “Maguire received a lot of treatment in a Dublin hospital but he’s now back in Drogheda and looking for somewhere to live. He is stuck there for the time being.

“He is effectively blocking a bed as there is nowhere for him to go at the moment. His associates still come to visit him to lift his spirits.

“You could say not everyone at the hospital is too happy — he’s a security threat at the end of the day. He’s already been shot and his enemies are determined to kill him so he will need a lot of security no matter where he goes.

“Maguire remains the number one target for the rival gang but he still has support even though he’s now confined to a wheelchair.”

Our latest revelations come after Maguire’s associates were suspected of torching a shed in the Donore Road area of Drogheda.

A petrol bomb was then thrown through the front room of a property in the Drive Riverbank area of the town on Wednesday night. A car was torched in the early hours of Thursday morning.

Gardai — who have launched Operation Stratus to combat the feuding gang — are also bracing themselves for further attacks in the run-up to Christmas.

Officers from the Armed Support Unit are on patrol every day in a bid to stop the rival gangs from striking.

During the vicious feud, a crude car bomb was one of the weapons used against Maguire’s associates.

Two gas canisters were left in a vehicle before it was torched in the Moneymore area of the Louth town last month.

Since the attempt on Maguire’s life in July, there have been a spate of violent incidents.

Maguire’s associates also have a fierce reputation for violence and are the chief suspects for the murder of Willie Maughan and his girlfriend Ana, missing since 2015.

Willie and his pregnant fiancee Ana were last sighted in Gormanstown, Co Meath, on April 14, 2015. The chief suspects are associates of Maguire and caged gangster Cornelius Price.
