OpIsrael is kind of over but AnonGhost has leaked yet another list of login credentials of Israeli citizens — At the other hand another group of hackers going with the handle of AnonCoders is making news for defacing 100 Israeli websites.

The online hacktivist AnonGhost has left a list of 820 login credentials on Pastebin, claiming the list belongs to the social media accounts of Israeli citizens.

Claim apart, we did our own data scanning to find out if the data is legit, if it has been leaked before or if anyone really has a Facebook account with these credentials.

Here’s what we found out:

The list includes emails and their clear-text passwords.
If not all then many of these credentials have a Facebook and Twitter account associated with them.
The data is legit and never been leaked in past. However, it was pasted on Pastebin twice today.
98% of this data is on .co.il domain which leads to a conclusion that it does belong to Israeli citizens.

Website Defacement:

AnonCoders, a group of pro-Palestinain hackers hacked and defaced 100 Israeli websites few hours ago. The targeted websites belong civilians and semi-government institutions like hospitals, pharmacies, Jewelry shops, schools, trading companies and real estate.

Hackers left a deface page along with a message on all hacked websites in support of Palestine in following words:

This is our home, keep fighting for your home.
