In a latest video footage from Anonymous, the notorious hacker group, a masked individual appears in a suit and delivers a well-structured statement announcing a possible attack on Israel’s online servers on April 7.

The operation will be carried out under the famous banner of OpIsrael.

The video features pictures of distraught Palestinian children and the areas in Palestine that were bombed during the Operation Protective Edge. Also included are images of Benjamin Netanyahu, Israeli prime minister, in a briefing room with top military officials and defence minister.

The Anonymous hacker in the video says:

“As we did many times, we will take down your servers, government websites, Israeli military websites, and Israeli institutions.” “We will erase you from cyberspace in our Electronic Holocaust.”

Anonymous particularly has targeted the Iron Dome several times already. A campaign against Israel was announced in November 2014 too but there were no reports of a significant damage.

Israel is threatened by cyberattackers frequently but the fact is that hackers create hype but fail to succeed and are able to merely cause temporary damage. Usually hackers publish lists of names and passwords of Israeli officials but most of the times these lists are outdated.

On April 7 last year a similar announcement was made by Anonymous but only a few of Israeli websites could be brought down, that too, only temporarily.

We just got confirmation from @Op_Israel, the most authentic Anonymous’ Twitter account handling Israel and Palestinian conflict. The hackers will conduct cyber attack on Israel cyber space on 7th April 2015.
