A WOMAN has been seriously injured and two others wounded in a triple stabbing on a main road in East London this afternoon.

She is fighting for her life after the attack on Church Road near Capworth Street, Leyton, at 3.37pm.

The Metropolitan Police said they were called following reports of a man injured.

A spokesman said: “Officers and London Ambulance Service attended and found a woman with stab injuries and two men with slash wounds.

“They have been taken to an east London hospital for treatment.

“The woman aged in her thirties is in a critical condition. Both men's injuries are not life threatening or changing.

“No arrests have been made. A crime scene is in place.”

One witness tweeted: “Just got in to find my neighbour shook up – he just saw a family get stabbed in Leyton.

“Mother and father in front of their kid. Horrible.

"Police were there in minutes.”

Church Road was closed between Palamos Road and Marconi Road to allow police to investigate.

Meanwhile in a separate incident not far way in Newham, a 26-year-old victim was found suffering from knife wounds by paramedics and police who were called to Field Road at around 2.25pm.

He was rushed to hospital where he is tonight fighting for his life.

Officers arrested a man on suspicion of GBH and he is currently in custody.

Detectives from North East Area Command Unit are investigating.
