Fallen star Mary Sean Young is wanted for questioning after cops say she was seen on surveillance video stealing thousands of dollars worth of laptops from a store in New York City.

Once a big star in the 1980s and 1990s, playing the iconic role of Rachel in Blade Runner and Ray Finkle in Ace Ventura: Pet Detective, Young's increasingly erratic behavior over the years has seen a dramatic fall from grace.

Now the 58-year-old actress is wanted by police for burglary after she was caught on camera breaking into School of Old store, on 36 Avenue in Astoria, Queens, at around noon on Thursday with a male companion.

The pair reportedly made off with two Apple laptops and video production software worth about $12,000.

The 58-year-old, who has battled with alcoholism in the past, had reportedly been working at the store but was fired several months ago,TMZ reports.

The NYPD confirmed to DailyMail.com that they are seeking Young and the other male suspect, but no arrests have yet been made.

A representative for Young did not immediately return a call seeking comment.

Young shot to fame in 1982 playing Harrison Ford's replicant love interest in the original Blade Runner movie and once looked set for a sparkling Hollywood career. But years of alcoholism, bizarre behavior and run-in with the police have robbed her of those opportunities.

Her last roles consisted of a bit part on TNT's The Alienist and costarring in budget horror movie flop Escape Room. She did appear in the 2017 sequel Blade Runner 2049 but was brought back digitally, through a touch of movie magic, as her younger self to play the ageless replicant.

She had taken a job at the Queens until she was fired, when she decided to take the drastic action of burgling the store, according to police.

Young's tumble from celebrity began following her romance with Oscar-nominated actor James Woods in 1989.

The couple met on the set of The Boost and had a brief affair before Woods dumped her and returned to his fiancee.

He claimed that a furious Young sent him and his new girlfriend pictures of corpses and mutilated bodies, and even left a mutilated doll at his door as a reminder of his fiancée's abortion, People reported at the time.

Woods had Young arrested for stalking and filed a $2 million harassment lawsuit against her, which was later settled out of court.

Young claimed the incident was a 'misunderstanding.'

In another famous incident in 1992, she arrived at the Batman Returns set in a homemade Catwoman suit after she lost out on playing the part.

Years later, Young donned a cat suit for a skit on the Late Show with David Letterman. A clip showed her wearing the homemade suit, as she begged people for work, while screaming 'I'm not crazy!'

Young, who now lives in Astoria, voluntarily went into rehab for treatment of an alcohol problem in January 2008, after she had struggled against addiction for many years.

The actress, who has all but dropped out of the celebrity scene, then had a run-in with the law in 2012 when she was arrested for allegedly slapping a security guard.

Young, who had posted photos of herself posing with a bevy of A-listers including Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, insisted at the time she was 'sober' and 'extremely well behaved when a stupid security guard went postal on me'.

TMZ claimed the drama unraveled after Young tried to get into the Governor's Ball post-Oscars party without a ticket. It is alleged she slapped a security guard after she returned to try and get in a second time and was led away by security.

Young was then arrested and taken away by police and booked for battery.

The incident was not her first issue at an Oscars after party. She tried to get into a Vanity Fair party by sneaking in behind Jennifer Aniston in 2006.

But she was escorted out by four guards when spotted by security.

Young said of that incident: 'It was degrading. But when you have nothing to lose, it's really not that big of a deal.'

The divorced mother-of-two has seen her career fade of late - to such an extent that she agreed to appear in the reality show Skating With The Stars in 2010. But sadly her comeback did not last long as she was eliminated in the second show of the ABC series in November after falling onto the ice twice.

She shot to fame in 1982 in the sci-fi thriller Blade Runner. She then starred in hit films including No Way Out and Ace Ventura: Pet Detective.

Young, of Louisville, Kentucky, also had roles in TV shows including One Tree Hill and more recently daytime show The Young and the Restless.

She married Robert Lujan in 1990 before divorcing him 12 years later in 2002 - but they had two boys together, named Quinn, 20, and Rio, 23. Both boys appeared in a few films as child actors.

Lujan and Young remarried in 2011.

Young last made headlines last year during the Me Too movement when she accused disgraced Miramax producer Harvey Weinstein of exposing himself to her.

She also accused Barbra Streisand of shaming her for going public with Warren Beatty sexual harassment allegations.

Young said that Weinstein, who has been accused of sexual harassment and abuse by dozens of women, of exposing himself during the filming of 1992 movie Love Crimes.

'I made a movie with Harvey Weinstein called Love Crimes, which didn't end up being a good movie,' she said, 'but I personally experienced him pulling his you-know-what out of of his pants in order to shock me,' she said during an appearance on radio program Dudley and Bob with Matt Show in October.

'And my basic response was you know Harvey I don't think you should be pulling that thing out it's not very pretty and then leaving and never having another meeting with that guy again because it was like 'what on earth?'.'

Young also claims that she was fired Warren Beatty's 1990 critical bomb Dick Tracy after she turned down his advances. Beatty claimed Sean's firing was a purely creative decision at the time.

And the Blade Runner star says that when she met Barbara Steisand when she auditioned for her 1996 movie, the music and film legend had attacked her for going to the press about her treatment by Beatty.

'I auditioned for... The Mirror Has Two Faces I think it was. And when I went to my audition with her she said to me, 'I think it's disgusting that you talked to the press!''

'And what I had said to the press was that I was harassed,' Young explained. 'That I was sexually harassed by Warren Beatty. And she told me she thought that was disgusting.'

'And I said, 'you think it's disgusting?' And she said 'I was with Warren Beatty and I made my mouth fall off!'

Young claimed to have said to Streisand, who has long been rumored to have dated Beatty in 1969, 'What am I the only actress who hasn't slept with Warren Beatty in this town? I mean that can't be true!'

A representative for Streisand told TMZ: 'I have no memory of ever having interviewed Sean Young, and I do not condone harassment of women under any circumstances.'
