NINE people in their 20s have been rushed to hospital after a suspected mass drug overdose in Victoria Park on Tuesday night.

Paramedics and police were called to the house on Colombo Street at 11.40pm and found the nine in various states of unconscious.

Three men were rushed to Royal Perth Hospital where they are in a critical condition

Two men and a woman were taken to Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital. The men are in a stable condition and the woman is in a stable condition in intensive care.

Two men and a woman were taken Fiona Stanley Hospital and are in a stable condition.

Neighbours were woken when nine ambulances and about 20 paramedics turned up in the street and there were chaotic scenes as the people, who are all believed to be aged in their 20s, were wheeled out on stretchers.

Neighbours described a scary scene in which the young people, with “glassy eyes” and one man behaving aggressively.

The house appears to be used as short-term accommodation for backpackers, with locals also describing a hive of activity and constantly changing residents.

Police are investigating if the incident is drug related and it is believed the nine are visitors to WA.
