A MUM-OF-THREE died more than a week after falling from the 11th floor of a Birmingham tower block.

Bianca Thomas, 25, died a week after plunging from Cleveland Tower last month, with a 30-year-old man arrested on suspicion of attempted murder at the time.

An inquest into her death was opened and adjourned on Friday.

Devastated friends and relatives have now launched a campaign to raise £4,000 for her funeral.

West Midlands Police said investigations are ongoing.

Speaking shortly after the incident on August 7, a spokesman for West Midlands Ambulance Service said: “We received a call at 1.06am to reports of a woman who had fallen from a balcony onto the entrance of Cleveland Tower.

“The woman suffered very serious injuries and we worked alongside the West Midlands Fire Service technical team to get her down.

“She was given pain relief and anaesthetised by a doctor on-scene before being taken to the major trauma unit at Queen Elizabeth Hospital.

“One ambulance crew attended alongside a paramedic area support officer, a HART doctor and the critical care team from the Midlands Air Ambulance.”
