MSI Rolls Out BIOS 1.D for Some of Its Intel Z97 Chipset Motherboards
Today, MSI has made available a new BIOS package targeted at some of its Intel Z97 chipset-based motherboard, namely version 1.D compatible with the Z97 Gaming 9 ACK, Z97 Gaming 9 AC, and Z97A Gaming 9 ACK devices.
In terms of changes, this new update should improve memory and PCIe SSD compatibility, optimize Hynix A-die Memory, fix the issue where the system is not able to boot from legacy DVD ROM when RAID is active, and upgrade the CPU microcode.
When it comes to installation, first of all, make sure that this new release specifically solves an issue that has been bothering you, or implements a useful change, as flashing a newer BIOS can be risky and might render the board unusable.
Therefore, if you intend to apply this release, save and unzip the appropriate package for your board model, copy the content onto an empty USB drive, and reboot your computer. Afterwards, enter the BIOS setup menu, select the M-Flash option, and choose “Select one file to update BIOS and ME.”
Now, navigate to the BIOS file and select it, hit “Enter,” and make sure the removable USB stick isn’t disconnected during the installation process. Once finished, simply press the “Delete” key, and make sure the upgrade has been successful.
That said, from the links below, follow the one that best describes your motherboard model, apply it, and constantly check our website to stay “updated one minute ago.”
