A MINISTER has told of her terror at being stalked online for two years, amid calls for internet firms to crack down on crime.

Nusrat Ghani, Conservative MP for Wealden, in East Sussex, said the man singled her out as she was a woman, Asian and a Muslim.

He carried out a lengthy email campaign from 2015, sending messages and conspiracy theories about her to hundreds of people she met through work.

The transport minister wants companies like Facebook, Google and Twitter to do more.

She told The Sunday Times: “In my case, the police decided to take action.

"But it took weeks for them to get the information they needed to locate the stalker.”
