A mother was shoved against a car after she tried to stop a violent fight between dozens of students and adults outside a school.

The teenagers appeared to spill on the street, forcing cars to stop to avoid crashing into them as they furiously kicked and shouted at one another.

A number of adults reportedly stepped in to break up the brawl but the vicious Perth students began attacking them.

The fight appeared to take place in a suburban area near Butler College, north of Western Australia's capital city, 7News reported.

The woman who stepped in to stop the fight could be seen being punched by the students with such force it flung her head into the car window.

At one point in the fight, which happened after 3.30pm Tuesday, a person's shoe was left lying on the road.

WA Police said there were a number of adults involved in the brawl but they were not hitting children, the publication reported.

No official complaint has been made but authorities are investigating.

If students are found to have been involved in the fight, they face a suspension of up to 10 days.
