Michelle Obama and ‘Better Make Room’ Campaign

First lady Michelle Obama has tapped a clutch of TV and digital heavyweights for an initiative designed to encourage teenagers to continue their education after high school.

The “Better Make Room” campaign aims to convince youths between the ages of 14 and 19 to pursue education beyond high school, whether college or vocational training. The effort is part of the first lady’s Reach Higher program designed to expand educational opportunities for youths around the country.
NBCUniversal Cable, A+E Networks, the CW, AwesomenessTV, Vine, Funny or Die and CollegeHumor are among the orgs who have pledged to promote the campaign with PSAs and to create special content designed to hammer home the message. Talent from each of those companies will be enlisted as part of the effort.

“This campaign will leverage traditional and new media platforms to celebrate student stories in the same way that we often celebrate celebrities and athletes,” the White House said.
