MEGHAN Markle reportedly made her first husband sign a "pregnancy contract" so he would pay for a personal trainer so she could stay in shape if she gave birth.

According to reports, the actress was concerned about her appearance so she made Trevor Engelson pay for a nutritionist and nanny if they had kids.

It comes just weeks after Prince Harry and Meghan announced they are expecting their first child together.

A source told DailyMailTV Meghan was “terrified” about gaining weight if she gave birth.

One of Meghan’s friends said she “demanded” a personal trainer and the main focus for the agreement was her “health and weight”.

It is believed he signed the agreement two years after they tied the knot in 2011, which is around the time she rose to stardom after appearing in the hit legal drama Suits.

Pregnancy contracts are becoming increasingly popular in America.

Meghan’s friend told DailyMailTV: “It came up at a time when they were considering having a family at some point in the near future.

“She knows the heavy-weighted body-type runs in her family and has always been terrified of putting on extra pounds, particularly given her career at the time.

“She demanded a personal trainer and nutritionist during and after the pregnancy.

“I'm sure a nanny was discussed too, but the main focus for her was on health and weight.”

It is understood that no formal document was shown to a lawyer but Meghan, 37, forced him to sign a “handwritten letter” so she could “hang it over his head”.

Trevor, 42, met Meghan in 2004 and became engaged six years later before marrying in Jamaica in front of their family and friends.

But Meghan spent a lot of time filming Suits in Toronto while Engelson stayed in Los Angeles and they separated in 2013.

The pair got divorced in 2014 and Meghan married Harry, 34, in a lavish ceremony in Windsor in May this year.

Meghan is due to give birth in spring next year and the royal couple are believed to have given the family the news at Princess Eugenie’s wedding earlier this month.
