A “ONE stop shop” for businesses wanting to break into the lucrative local defence industry will be set up at the old Royal Adelaide Hospital site, offering rapid access to office space and networking with key figures in the field.

Before leaving on Thursday night for a major defence conference in Paris, Premier Steven Marshall released to The Advertiser new details of the “defence landing pad” set for Lot Fourteen.

He said it would offer “affordable, short-term office facilities, which are co-located with other like-minded companies and industry associations in the Adelaide CBD”.

Companies will also have access to government and industry support services in a single location to provide assistance with local regulations, migration, business establishment and real estate and information on worker availability and skilling opportunities.

Mr Marshall said he would promote the opportunity at the Euro Naval event in Paris, where SA will present a united political front in a bid to secure jobs and investment.

“The defence landing pad will provide the opportunity for SA to capture new defence industry investment, as part of a growing local industry with significant employment opportunities,” he said.

“Companies that join the defence landing pad will have a unique opportunity to be a part of Lot Fourteen, which is fast becoming a business hub for entrepreneurs, start-ups, corporations, mentors, researchers and investors.”

Mr Marshall will be joined in Paris for the expo by Opposition Leader Peter Malinauskas, who also holds the shadow space and defence portfolios.

Defence Teaming Centre chief executive Margot Forster said the landing pad would help connect industry in SA.
