A WOMAN fought off a man twice after he followed her from a train station and sexually assaulted her, it's reported.

The victim was walking home from work when she was grabbed from behind, according to the Liverpool Echo.

The terrifying attack happened in Wirral between Spital train station and Kinglass Road just before 11pm on Saturday.

The woman allegedly fought off the man, who fled the scene on a bike.

It is claimed he then returned and tried to attack her again but she managed to escape for a second time.

Although she was not injured, the woman is said to have been left shaken by her ordeal.

A police spokesperson said: "We were contacted at just after 11pm last night following reports a woman was sexually assaulted close to Spital train station in Wirral.

"The woman reported she was approached from behind by an unknown male and assaulted between Spital train station and Kinglass Road.

"The man then made off on a pushbike.

"The woman was not injured but was left shaken by her ordeal."
