BREXIT will boost British football, top manager Neil Warnock claimed last night.

The Cardiff City boss called on Theresa May to hurry up and take Britain out of the EU.

He dismissed claims that Brexit will make it harder to sign up European players and insisted the certainty of leaving will actually help British sport.

Mr Warnock told reporters: "I think once the country knows what they’re doing, it will be straightforward."

He added: "I don’t know why politicians don’t do what the country wants, if I’m honest. They had a referendum and now we see different politicians and everyone else trying to put their foot in it.

"Why did we have a referendum in the first bloody place?

"I can’t wait to get out of it, if I’m honest. I think we’ll be far better out of the bloody thing. In every aspect. Football-wise as well, absolutely.

"To hell with the rest of the world."

The former Sheffield United and QPR manager isn't the only celebrity to emerge as a keen Brexiteer over the weekend.

TV star Su Pollard is reported to have confronted Theresa May and urged her to speed up the Brexit process.

At a No10 party, the Hi-de-Hi! actor went up to the PM and exclaimed, "We want Brexit!"

She added: "What’s happening with Brexit, why is it taking so long?"

Ms Pollard attended the party as a guest of Tory MP Andrew Rosindell, an old friend of hers.
