THE thug brother of one-eyed cop killer Dale Cregan has been caged for stabbing his sister's ex-boyfriend.

Dean Moores, 37, knifed Ryan Lever, who used to date Dale's sister Stacey, in the leg after a row in Rochdale.

He was caught on CCTV and when cops traced him back to his home, they discovered a cannabis farm inside.

Moores has now been jailed for five years and five months after admitting grievous bodily harm and growing cannabis.

His mum Anita says she is devastated her two sons are in jail and claims Moores' brutal attack was not premeditated.

She told the Sunday Mirror: "Dean goes fishing often and had his fishing knife with him.

“He’s not walked about with a knife. He pleaded guilty immediately. He was caught on camera arguing with Ryan.

“Dean’s a family man. He’s really sad that he’s ended up in prison.”

She added: “As a mother, It’s hard enough having one son in prison and now I have another one inside. I am devastated.

“They’ve not been brought up with guns and knives.”

Her notorious brute son Dale was caged for life in 2013 after slaughtering policewomen Nicola Hughes, 23, and Fiona Bone, 32, while on the run for two other murders.

He had lured the cops to a house in Hattersley with a bogus 999 call before chucking a hand grenade and shooting the officers 32 times.

His brother, who doesn't use the same surname, was captured on CCTV entering an alleyway next to a shop 26-year-old Ryan was in.

When Ryan came out, Moores pounced on him and knifed him in the thigh before chasing his terrified victim down.

He then jumped in a Renault Clio and fled the horror, Manchester Minshull Street Crown Court heard.

His sister was charged with helping Moores flee but the Crown Prosecution Service confirmed this week they had dropped the case against her.
