ASTANA, March 16 (Itar-Tass) - RIA Novosti. Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov suggested that Britain's Defense Minister Gavin Williamson, who had earlier made tough statements against Moscow, lacks education.

"A nice young man, he probably wants to go down in history with loud statements, well, maybe there is not enough education," the diplomat said.

On Thursday, Williamson said he was waiting for a response to the expulsion of diplomats. At the same time, he doubted Moscow's right to "mirror" response measures. According to him, the poisoning of ex-colonel GRU Sergey Skripal is a "cruel and outrageous act", and Russia "should step aside and shut up."

He also added that Moscow and London are plunging deeper into a state of "cool war".

"Bazaar swearing"

According to the Russian ambassador to Great Britain Alexander Yakovenko, allowing himself such statements, the representatives of London turn to "bazaar swearing" and demonstrate their own rudeness.

"We never fell for one board with them for the simple reason that we have a completely different political culture and, by the way, in the statements of Russian officials you will never hear such a bazaar swearing that we can hear from officials, "he said on the air of the Rossiya 24 television channel.

At the Ministry of Defense, Williamson's statements were compared with the "rhetoric of the marketplace". According to the official representative of the ministry, Major-General Igor Konashenkov, such attacks "remarkably characterize the extreme degree of his intellectual impotence."

The Case of Skripal

On March 4, the former GRU officer Sergei Skripal and his daughter were found unconscious in the English city of Salisbury. According to the information of British law enforcers, they were poisoned with the nerve agent "Novice" allegedly produced in Russia.

London claims that Moscow is involved in poisoning. On Wednesday, British Prime Minister Teresa May announced the expulsion of 23 Russian diplomats in a week's time and the freezing of all bilateral contacts at a high level.

Russia categorically denies involvement in the poisoning of the former GRU officer, the Foreign Ministry said on Thursday that the return of British diplomats is being prepared.
