ROAD rage killer Kenneth Noye is having sleepovers at a hostel to prepare him for permanent release.

The gangster, who murdered Stephen Cameron, 21, on an M25 slip road, makes regular trips to the halfway house to spend the night.

If he proves trustworthy he will be able to leave Kent’s Standford Hill open prison on the Isle of Sheppey for good.

A source said: “Noye has been told that sleeping overnight at a hostel and returning the next day is the next step towards his release.

“He was cleared to do the sleepover a few months ago.

"So far his behaviour has been impeccable and he has stuck by the rules. He is desperate to be released on parole.”

Noye, 70, was caged for life 18 years ago for knifing Stephen in front of his fiancee.

Stephen’s dad Ken, 71, who lives in Kent, said: “I genuinely fear walking around the corner and bumping into him.”

A Ministry of Justice spokesman said: “Offenders must pass a risk assessment.”
