VENDING machines in Japan are now dispensing entire PIZZAS.

The machine in Hiroshima, called Pizza Self, gives access to the takeaway favourite 24 hours a day - and according to one hungry customer, the machine-cooked pizza tastes "legit".

SoraNews24 reports the red, white and green pizza vending machine boasts "fresh out of the oven" pizza and is found at the front of a video rental shop in the southern city on Honshu Island.

There are currently two types of pizza available from the machine a margherita pizza for £7 and a four cheese pizza for £9.

To order a pizza, customers pay for their selection and wait just five minutes until it's ready.

The pizza is then dispensed in a takeaway-style box with its own pizza cutter and a plastic bag.

On Twitter, one taste testing customer said: “It has blue cheese on it! It’s pretty legit!”

They also added that the pizza "betrayed their expectations in a good way".

Despite a Pizza Hut and a Dominos within walking distance, a queue formed at the pizza vending machine, the customer claimed.

With five million vending machines nationwide, Japan has the highest density of the convenience machines in the world and can dispense soft drinks, coffee, tea, cigarettes, sweets, hot food, beer and even vibrators.
