THIS is the shocking moment a shark grabs a woman by her finger, dragging her into the water.

Horrifying video shows Melissa Brunning screaming as the beast lunges out of the water and "shredded her flesh off the bone."

The 34-year-old from Perth, Australia, was on the "holiday of a lifetime" when the usually mild-mannered tawny nurse shark lunged.

Melissa was trying to feed the animal fish by hand when it grabbed her.

She told Perth News : "I think the shark was in shock as much as I was.

"The only way I can describe it is this immense pressure and it felt like it was shredding it off the bone.

"I came up and I was like, ‘I’ve lost my finger, my finger’s gone’."

The dramatic attack happened in Dugong Bay in Western Australia.

But Melissa was quick to defend the shark, claiming she was to blame.

She said: "It’s not the shark’s fault at all, but it could have been a lot worse."

Remarkably, Melissa shrugged off the horror attack and went on to enjoy the rest of her three-week break.

Earlier this week, we revealed how a Great White shark was spotted stalking a boat off the southern coast of Majorca — the first official sighting at the Brit-packed tourist spot in 30 years.

Scientists filmed the huge 16.5ft "Jaws" near the holiday island before sharing the horrifying footage on social media.
