Homeless man ‘tries to abduct child outside shopping centre’

A HOMELESS man has appeared in court accused of trying to abduct a child in a shopping centre.

The 22-year-old allegedly tried to snatch the youngster in Freshney Place, Grimsby.

Daniel McKiernan, of no fixed abode, is charged with the attempted abduction, which is alleged to have take place on Friday.

He appeared in Grimsby Magistrates Court yesterday and was remanded into custody.

He is next due to appear at crown court on December 10, 2018.
