A GRIEVING mum whose four-year-old daughter was crushed to death by a marble fireplace is crowdfunding for IVF treatment.

Little Jessica Azadi died after the fireplace, which was leaning against a fence at her family's garden in Thornaby, Yorkshire, fell on her head.

Two years after Jessica's death, maternity nurse Natasha hopes she can beat her fertility problems and have another child.

The 30-year-old told Teeside Live: "I always wanted more children and thought I had time and was still young enough.

"But when I was still with Jess' dad, I also knew I had fertility issues and had never explored the options.

"I then went to the London Fertility Clinic in Darlington where I was told that one option for me was IVF treatment and that I would always need that to have another child."

The crowdfunding page has already raised £1,600 towards her £14,000 target but Natasha is working extra hours to make most of the cash herself.

Natasha says the treatment has only a 40 per cent chance of being successful.

Despite two years having passed since the death of Jessica, Natasha says she thinks about her all the time and the joy she brought.

She explained: "I don't want to get carried away, and if it doesn't happen then I am happy to accept that Jess was my only child.

"If IVF didn't work, I will always feel blessed that I had Jess - I still had the experience of giving birth and having a child.

"I'm in a good place at the moment and I will be forever grateful that she was in my life."

At Jess's inquest last year, senior coroner Clare Bailey recorded a verdict of accidental death.
