Google Home Finally Lets You Set Reminders Using Your Voice
You know that thing you do where you ask your partner/friend/family member to remind you to do something later? Yeah, well now Google Home can actually do that, and unlike that person you always ask, it won’t forget. This week, Google Home is rolling out an update that will finally enable voice-activated reminders for the digital assistant.
The anticipated feature is powered through the Google Assistant platform, which has been able to do reminders on Android phones for some time now. To use it, all you have to do is say something like “Ok Google, set a reminder [insert thing, time, and date here].” You can set reminders for just about anything, like appointments, when to take out the trash, or when to call your mom, and you can set them as far out as you like. And if you use Google Assistant on your Android phone, Google Home can remind you even when you’re on the go.
Best of all, Google Home can recognize multiple users so anyone in your household can use the reminders feature. No getting chore reminders that are meant for your kids, no getting work reminders meant for your partner, and no getting in trouble if you need Google Home to remind you when there’s an anniversary or birthday. The reminder roll out has started today and should be available over the coming weeks.
