A Google glitch has left users across the globe frustrated, especially due to a lack of information and updates from the multinational technology company.

There have been reports of outages with Google Home and Google Home Mini – speakers that respond to voice commands - and Chromecast – a device that plugs into a television.

Millions of users have been affected worldwide with some experiencing issues for up to 12 hours, The Guardian reports.

“There was a glitch, try again in a few seconds,” users speakers responded when asked a question.

Users have taken to social media to vent their frustration with some reporting that they could not stream on Chromecast or use it to connect to other devices.

“The fact that it’s been 12 hours my Chromecast has not been working and we’re only now finding out there’s an issue,” one user wrote on Twitter.

Google was inundated with complaints from people about the issue in New Zealand, Spain, Ireland, India and Argentina.

Google has not given a reason why the devices went down but has responded to tweets.

“We're sorry to hear some of our users are experiencing issues with their Google Home and Chromecast. We're on it. Stay tuned for updates.”
