GOGO’S is going, going .... gone — and later this week, the hammer will also fall on the once-famed curry restaurant’s unprecedented haul of cricketing memorabilia.

Earlier this year, it was revealed the Mt Lawley restaurant previously hailed as Perth’s mecca of curry and cricket had been placed into liquidation.

Devastated owner and chef Govindha “Gogo” Govardhan handed the keys of the Beaufort Street eatery over to liquidators Avior Consulting in June.

Included in the assets were Gogo’s trove of cricketing curios, acquired over years of serving some of the world’s greatest players with what many said was some of the world’s best Indian cuisine.

From Thursday, via an online auction by Ross’ auctioneers, many of those pieces will be available to bid on.

Plates signed Brian Lara, Muttiah Muralitharan, Sachin Tendulkar, Ricky Ponting and David Boon will all go on sale, as well as various framed plates signed by numerous visiting international teams.

A unique set of Gogo’s chef’s whites, signed by some of the Australian greats who whitewashed England in the Ashes tour of 2006/2007, will also go on sale, as well as a framed, signed picture of Eagles legend David Wirrpanda.

The auction will last a week, beginning on Thursday, with an inspection on site next Wednesday, October 17. The catalogue can be viewed at www.auctions.com.au
