AUSTRALIA’S richest person, Gina Rinehart, is urging the nation’s governments to follow US President Donald Trump’s lead to slash unemployment, by reducMing taxes and red tape.

In a preview of a speech to be delivered in Adelaide at AmCham’s 50th anniversary dinner this month, Mrs Rinehart told The Advertiser she was especially excited to be speaking there because of Mr Trump’s important economic success. Mrs Rinehart, a mining and pastoral magnate, said this success was due to Mr Trump’s lower tax regime and red tape repeal process.

“President Trump’s focus on tax reform, eliminating burdensome red tape and improving business and consumer confidence has seen positive economic outcomes for the United States, which just keep coming and coming,” Mrs Rinehart told The Advertiser.

“The US unemployment rate (this month) broke below 4 per cent for the first time in nearly 20 years.

“We need our governments here in Australia to be noting the results of what cutting tape and taxes does, and doing the same as President Trump.”

Mrs Rinehart, whose wealth is valued at almost $24 billion by Forbes, is guest speaker at AmCham’s 50th anniversary gala dinner, at the Adelaide Convention Centre on May 25.

The dinner will be attended by Premier Steven Marshall, Governor Hieu Van Le and his wife, Mrs Lan Le.
