GARDAI have launched an investigation after a man’s body was discovered following a house fire in Co Cork this morning.

Emergency services were called to the scene at Shanagh, Dunmanway shortly after 10.30am this morning.

The house was engulfed in flames when they arrived and the remains of a man, early 40s, was located.

Gardai remain at the scene where a full technical examination is underway.

A Garda spokesperson said: “Gardai were called to an incident this morning the October 14 2018 shortly after 10.30am.

“A house was discovered on fire at Shanagh, Dunmanway, Co Cork.

“The emergency services were contacted and a body of a man (early 40s) was located.

“Gardai remain at the scene where a full technical examination is under way. Investigations on going.”
