A FRAUDSTER posed as a Hollywood tycoon to pull off a £1million scam featuring Tom Cruise.

Keith Morgan, 61, said he was an investment specialist with links to Saudi royalty.

But the dad of two was actually a twice bankrupt on benefits in a rented house in Wales, a court heard.

Morgan said Top Gun star Cruise wanted to buy a property on land he owned in LA.

He also claimed he was involved in humanitarian aid and conned New York fund boss Wa’el Chehab into advancing him £1million to pay for bogus refugee hospitals.

He then bought £65,000 Jaguar cars and £10,000 Kawasaki sports bikes. But his bank, fearing the £1million was laundered cash, informed police.

Prosecutor Tim Evans told Cardiff crown court: “Mr Morgan is a confident, brash, and at times convincing conman.”

Morgan of Pontypridd, was jailed for eight years for fraud and money laundering and eight months for possessing a knife after he resisted arrest.

Cops have recovered one of the Jaguars and almost £750,000.
