The Foreign Ministry decided to convene all foreign ambassadors amid accusations in London

The Russian Foreign Ministry intends to convey to them the position of Russia in history with a charge in the case of the poisoning of Sergei Skripal. London accuses Moscow of involvement in this poisoning

The Russian Foreign Ministry decided to organize a meeting for all foreign ambassadors accredited in Russia, dedicated to the situation around the UK's statements against Moscow on the case of poisoning the former GRU officer Sergei Skripal.

"The main theme of the meeting is the situation around the statements of the UK on the use of poisonous substances on its territory. It is planned to bring the Russian point of view to the official representatives of foreign states, to answer possible questions, as well as to voice the questions available to the Russian side, "the statement of the Russian MFA spokeswoman Maria Zakharova, received by RBC, reads.

The meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, March 21. On it, according to Zakharova, all the ambassadors of foreign countries accredited in Russia are invited. The leadership and experts of the Department for Nonproliferation and Arms Control will attend the meeting.

As noted by Zakharova, the press appears "a large number of opinions, assessments and even" memories "of experts on a given topic." She stressed that earlier the official information of the Russian side was voiced in the Security Council of the United Nations, OSCE, OPCW and other international organizations.

"Unfortunately, until now, despite numerous appeals to London, no one knows what kind of substance was used in Salisbury. Accordingly, all the hypotheses on this score only take away the attention from the main topic - the failure of the UK to provide Russia with any factual material, except for the accusations voiced in a boorish manner, "she said.

The British authorities directly accused Russia of involvement in the poisoning of former employee of the GRU, who worked for British intelligence, Sergei Skripal. According to Therese May, he and his daughter Julia were poisoned with the nerve agent "Novice", developed in the USSR and Russia. Moscow assures that such a substance was neither developed in the USSR nor in Russia.

Following the accusations, London announced the expulsion of 23 Russian diplomats from the country and the suspension of all government contacts at the highest level. Russia in response also announced the expulsion of 23 British diplomats, and also demanded the termination of the British Council in Russia.

The position of Great Britain was supported by the US and several other Western countries.
