Fears schoolgirl, 15, who vanished nine days ago is with older man she met online
A RUNAWAY schoolgirl who disappeared over a week ago is feared to be with an older man she met online.
Naomi Rees, 15, from Pontypridd, South Wales has not been seen since the morning of August 15 and could be with 20-year-old Tomas Baker of Tamworth, Staffordshire, said police.
South Wales police tonight appealed for the pair to get in touch to make sure the teen is safe.
CCTV footage shows Naomi taking a bus into Pontypridd, South Wales, before walking into the town's War Memorial Park.
Detective Inspector Gareth Davies, leading the investigation said that police were “very concerned” about the missing teen, as she had not made contact with family since going missing over a week ago.
He added: “Our message to Naomi is that we believe that you left on your own accord but we must know that you are OK.
"Your family and friends are extremely worried but you are not in any trouble whatsoever, so please make contact and let your parents know you are safe and well.”
Police have also urged Mr Baker - who Naomi is believed to have met online - to get in contact, saying that it is “not too late to do the right thing” if he is with the runaway schoolgirl.
In the CCTV footage, Naomi, who is 5ft 6ins, is wearing a long scarf, dark jacket, dark jeans, and black trainers with white soles. She is also carrying a holdall.
Officers have circulated the pair's details among other forces, while charity Missing People have publicised the details nationally.
Her family are distraught after Naomi went missing nine days ago from her home.
In an appeal last week, they said: "Please let us know where you are and that you are safe.
"Come home, we are all so worried about you."
