Rescue workers were still searching on Tuesday night for a missing mum who went for a bushwalk in Western Australia’s Pilbara region on Sunday morning and didn’t come home.

Police and SES volunteers were forced to halt the search for Felicity Shadbolt, 36, on Tuesday during the day as temperatures soared above 40 degrees, but resumed the operation in the late afternoon.

Local pony club members were also looking for the mother-of-two in the area surrounding Mount Nameless, where she walks regularly.

Tom Price and Karratha police are co-ordinating the search with aerial support.

“We continue to go over those areas of high probability, and what’s most likely to find her,” WA Police inspector Ray Thompson told 9News.

“The heat has got up to 45C. You wouldn’t want to be out there for 10 minutes, let alone being out there searching and being out there missing.”

Ms Shadbolt is about 150cm tall, of slim build and has blonde hair which is braided in two ponytails.

It’s believed she was wearing blue pants and a black T-shirt and was carrying a light blue Camelback hydration pack when she set out for the walk.

It’s understood Ms Shadbolt moved to Tom Price, a town of about 3,000 people 400 kilometres south of Port Hedland.
