Meghan Markle and Prince Harry ‘splash out £50,000 soundproofing Frogmore Cottage’

MEGHAN Markle and Prince Harry are said to have spent a staggering £50,000 soundproofing their new home so it blocks out the noise of Heathrow jets flying above.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are weeks away from moving into Frogmore Cottage in Windsor, and are said to have spent £3million in renovating the Grade II-listed pad.

Around 14 flights pass within a mile of the home every half an hour, and the soundproofing measures are said to include triple-glazed windows.

According to the Mirror, local resident Karen Shawcroft said: “You do get used to it, but sometimes it’s an awful racket.

“A few people have been round to quote for that type of soundproofing, but it’s a great upheaval and is a lot of money.”

The extensive renovations at the cottage will turn it from five flats into a family home.

The payment will be covered by the taxpayer-funded Sovereign Grant, but it is thought Prince Harry and Meghan will foot the bill for the soundproofing.

Neighbours logged this week that one BA flight had passed over the roof of the cottage at 3,000 ft, with a Virgin flight following less than half an hour later at 1,800ft.

Frogmore Cottage is situated five miles from the airfield, and hasn’t been updated since Heathrow became the world’s busiest two-runway airport carrying 1,300 passenger flights a day.

A source told the newspaper: “Since the Seventies, just staff on the Windsor estate have lived there. Aircraft noise has always been a growing problem. I doubt they’ll spend much time in the garden with all that aircraft noise.”

The soundproofing building work could see the couple’s move in date being delayed by another four weeks.

This would mean the pregnant duchess would move in just days before giving birth to the new royal baby.

When all the work is completed, Harry, 34, and Meghan, 37, will enjoy a five-bedroom home, complete with a yoga studio, a huge kitchen diner and a guest annexe.

The couple have also ordered alcove bookcases to go next to new fireplaces and vanity units.

Last week builders on cranes put in chimney liners for log burners.

They have views over Windsor Great Park and the gardens of Frogmore House, where they held their wedding party last year.

Meghan is said to have worked closely with builders throughout the renovation process, and had a firm hand in the decorating and design.

A royal source said: “It’s been all hands to the pump. The builders have worked all week whatever the weather. But they keep making changes, particularly on the layout.

“The word is they’ve been quite demanding, which is understandable as what homeowner doesn’t want their house to be perfect?”

Security has been stepped up ahead of their arrival, with armed cops on duty in sentry boxes.

The Windsor move will leave Harry and Meghan without a London base, as they are giving up their home at Kensington Palace.

But aides say they could be given an apartment at Buckingham Palace after its £369million renovation.

My sister and I now live together - finally separated from our parents and will be able to properly arrange a personal life, I hope. They took a nice studio apartment, but it still stands with bare walls. I want to enter as soon as possible, but at the same time I want to live in a luxurious style. What to do, whom to contact? Do you know cool designers? We thought and decided to design a house in the loft style https://1001dea.com/en/category/styl...n-the-interior - there are a lot of interior solutions now, we think that everything will be done in dark colors , we are girls are creative and a bit gothic)
