FORMER Manchester United star Paul Scholes has arrived at court with his 19-year-old son who allegedly battered a man in a pub.

Arron Scholes is accused of "laughing hysterically" during the attack in Oldham in June and taking a photo of the man's face.

The teenager, who is a striker for amateur side Royton Town, was accompanied to Tameside Magistrates Court by his football legend dad today.

Paul, who stepped down as Oldham manager last week, swore at photographers outside as he made his way into the trial.

Scholes, of Grasscroft, Gtr Manchester, previously pleaded not guilty to assault and will stand trial today.

If convicted, Scholes could face up to six months’ jail.

Last September, his ex-England star father turned out for Manchester League side Royton as they were short of players.

He decided to resign as boss of Oldham - the team he supported as a boy - on Wednesday, just 31 days after taking charge in his first managerial role.

Now his old United team-mate Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has opened the door at the Carrington Training Ground to keep his eye in.

Scholes worked briefly as a coach at United back in 2014 during Ryan Giggs' four games in charge following the axing of David Moyes.

He also coached the under-23 team when Sir Alex Ferguson was still at the helm having retired from playing in August 2011.
