Eddie Murphy and Australian fiancee welcome his tenth child
Eddie Murphy has become a father again — for the 10th time.
The Hollywood actor and his Australian fiance Paige Butcher have welcomed a new baby boy.
The couple released a statement through Murphy’s publicist confirming their new son’s name was Max Charles Murphy.
He was born Friday last week and weighed 6 pounds, 11 ounces (3.03 kilograms).
The boy’s middle name is a tribute to Murphy’s older brother and fellow comedian Charlie Murphy, who died of leukaemia last year.
While it is Murphy’s tenth child, it will the couple’s second child together.
The Nutty Professor and Beverly Hills Cop actor has been dating the Australian model and actress since 2012, and they recently became engaged.
The statement said: “Both mother and son are doing well.”
Murphy, 57, and Butcher, 39, also have a two-year-old daughter named Izzy.
Murphy’s oldest child, Eric, is 29, from his relationship with Paulette McNeely.
He also has a 28-year-old son Christian, from his relationship with Tamara Hood.
His other five children who he shares with ex-wife Nicole Mitchell Murphy include daughters Bella Zahra, 16, Zola Ivy, 18, Shayne Audra, 23, and Bria, 28, plus his 26-year-old son Miles Mitchell.
Murphy is also the father of Angel, from his relationship with former Spice Girl Melanie Brown.
