FOR years the bum bag was a dodgy accessory often worn by dads in partnership with socks and sandals on holiday - much to your embarrassment.

But it appears the item - also known as a money belt, or a fanny pack in America - is no longer a crime against fashion.

According to stats from eBay's Top Shopped 2017 report, the online retailer sold more than 57,000 of them last year.

Not only that, the accessories were among the most popular '80s/'90s streetwear items that eBay said made massive comebacks.

Other retro items included Champion sweatshirts (25,000 purchased), Adidas Superstar sneakers (107,000), Reebok classics (28,000) and Nike Cortez (24,000).

And judging by the amount of bum bags on sale on the site - 50,188 results when you run a simple search - they're still very much in vogue for 2018.

Thankfully they've come a long way from the bum bags of the past.

'Hair Clouds'

In September we told how a designer made a man bag every bloke can get behind — and it looks like a beer belly.

Meanwhile naughty Lorraine Kelly revealed the real reason Mr Motivator wore his famous bum bag.

She chuckled: "The thing was with Mr Motivator, I can tell you this now, he had to wear that because tight Lycra - thin, tight Lycra -and a bulge... you need something to distract the eye."
