Despite the rapid development of pharmacology and the emergence of new types of drugs and methods of treatment, the main way to deliver tablets, capsules and pills has not changed in the whole history: you need to drink medicine. And the dosage in this case is very problematic to choose individually for each person. But scientists from Copenhagen University (Denmark), together with colleagues from the Academy of Abo (Finland), have discovered a cheap method of manufacturing personalized medicines. Their technology allows you to put on the edible basis QR code from the "ink", containing the necessary dose of the drug.

It is worth noting that for printing "medical QR-codes" can be used, even any conventional inkjet printer, in which you only need to insert a cartridge with special biological ink. Print these medications can be pharmacies or medical centers individually for each patient, "pawning" the necessary dose of substance to a specific person. This approach will reduce the risk of side effects due to improperly chosen dosages, and will also help to cope more effectively with diseases.

But why did you need to use QR-code? The fact is that QR-codes, according to the authors of the technology, will allow patients to protect themselves from counterfeits. After all, having received an edible QR-code, any person will be able to verify its authenticity using the application on the smartphone. In addition, there will be an opportunity to check which medications and for what have been assigned to each patient, because all QR-codes will be registered, and when they are checked, it will be possible to find out in whose name the drug is written out and even who wrote it.
