ALL this little boy wanted was a stuffed toy — but his quest for a cuddly friend saw him trapped inside a claw machine.

Taking matters into his own hands, the young Florida tot known as Mason, climbed into a small opening in the back of the machine to fetch a toy he had his eye on.

He tried to get back out but was it was a fruitless attempt, so he set up camp inside the machine as an off-duty fireman called in the local department to help get him out.

But Mason was having such a good time in there, he started crying when they tried to get him out.

A statement on behalf of the The Titusville Fire Department said: “Often times we say to ourselves that you never know what the next shift will bring. Well today was no exception. This evening little Mason was enjoying some food and decided he wanted a stuffed animal. He wanted it so bad, he climbed into the game to get that toy!!”

They managed to rescue Mason without any injuries or damage done.

You might wonder how the boy managed to wind up in such a predicament, but kids getting stuck in toy machines happens more than you think.

Last April a three-year-old got stuck in a toy machine at a Rouse Hill business in Sydney’s west.

Comments on a Facebook post about it hinted that several other children had been stuck in the same machine in the past.

Over in the US, 18-month-old Colin Lambert climbed into a game in Tennessee while his grandmother wasn’t looking in 2014.

He was quickly rescued by the local fire department.

Shortly after that incident, a Nebraska toddler somehow wandered out of his home to a nearby bowling alley and promptly climbed into its claw machine. Both the mother and the bowling alley called 911.

Back in 2010, a Pennsylvania toddler climbed into a toy machine in a mall, to the horror of her mother.

And the reason why firefighters need to rescue them is because generally no one on-site has a key to the machines.

The majority of claw games in the US are owned by third-party amusement companies, or small franchisees, so unless you’re at a dedicated arcade or amusement park, then the only person with the key to open the claw machine would be an operator who might stop by once a week to empty cash and restock.
