ELTON JOHN will be a guest at Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s wedding, but the pair will be dancing to another pop icon’s hit, it has been revealed.

Meghan and Harry may be soulmates, but they have wildly different tastes in music — which has posed a headache when it comes to choosing their wedding night entertainment.

Harry likes raucous crowd-pleasers, while Meghan is a fan of gentler, jazzier tunes, reports The Sun.

Rumours of a Spice Girls performance turned out to be just that, and suggestions that Coldplay might make an appearance are equally wide of the mark.

Instead it’s understood the pair have asked close pals to help them put together a “fun and bouncy” playlist.

Whitney Houston’s ’80s hit I Wanna Dance With Somebody (Who Loves Me) is tipped for the first dance.

No royal reception is complete without a dash of A-list stardust, however, and a grand piano is on standby for family friend Sir Elton John to hammer out some classics.

John, who was a great friend of Harry’s late mother Princess Diana, has cancelled two gigs in Las Vegas to attend.

Along with their friends and family, the couple will welcome 1200 inspirational members of the public who have demonstrated strong leadership in their communities. St George’s Chapel in Windsor will host 600 people, including famous pals Serena Williams, Millie Mackintosh and the Beckhams.

It says a lot about Meghan’s confidence that she’s allowed Harry to invite his two best-known exes, and there will surely be a sense of what might have been as Cressida Bonas and Chelsy Davy watch Megs walk down the aisle.

She’ll be escorted to the altar by her father Thomas, who is overcoming his shyness to be there for her.

Meghan’s mother Doria Ragland will be seated close to Charles and Camilla, the Queen and Prince Philip.

But controversial half-sister Samantha Grant, who’s written a tell-all book about her, has been left off the list, as have her half-brother, uncle, nephews and nieces.

The wedding party
Traditionally, royal grooms don’t have a best man, instead nominating “supporters”.

But Harry is ditching the formality and has chosen William for the special role.

There will be a military flavour to the wedding party, with many former Army comrades taking part, while his ushers are thought to include old school pals Guy Pelly and Tom Inskip.

Meghan, who has a huge circle of girlfriends, is said to have agonised over her choice of bridesmaids, and it has been suggested she may have solved the problem by deferring to royal tradition and not having any at all.

If she does pick a maid of honour it could well be author Lindsay Roth, her best friend from university and most loyal confidante.

Whatever her decision, the public can look forward to seeing Prince George and Princess Charlotte as pageboy and flower girl, as they were at their aunt Pippa’s wedding last year.

As for speeches, consummate charmer Meghan is planning to take to the mic herself, and William will be under pressure to come up with something special.

The cake
The wedding confection will be infused with lemon and elderflower, and decorated with buttercream and fresh flowers.

The pastry chef creating the masterpiece is Claire Ptak, owner of London bakery Violet — like Meghan, she’s a California native now living in the UK.

The happy couple are unlikely to eat any on the day itself, however, and as guests will be stuffed after the meal, slices will be presented in gift boxes at the end of the night.

It’s also understood that some members of the public on the streets of Windsor will be granted a taste to thank them for their support.

The food
The wedding breakfast is in the capable hands of Table Talk, who catered for Will and Kate’s reception in 2011, as well as Pippa Middleton’s nuptials last year.

Guests can look forward to a hearty British banquet including a seafood starter, organic rare-breed roast chicken and a selection of classic desserts.

Insiders say the caterers are also providing for an “eye-watering” list of special dietary requirements, with many of Meghan’s friends leading a vegan lifestyle.

Meghan herself eats vegan during the week, but she’s making an exception on her wedding day for roast-loving Harry.

As for the wine, this is Meghan’s domain. She named her blog The Tig after her favourite tipple, a Tuscan red wine called Tignanello, so it doesn’t take a genius to figure out what her guests will be drinking!

The flowers
Harry and Meghan love the outdoors, so they’ve chosen a florist who’s known for natural-looking arrangements. That’s not to say they’re going down-market, however.

The bouquets will be designed by Philippa Craddock, whose work is sold in London’s flagship Selfridges.

In a nod to Harry’s beloved mum, Meghan has asked Philippa to include white garden roses — Diana’s wedding bouquet was brimming with them.

The florist has also promised to use seasonal blooms and locally sourced foliage, as well as peonies (Meghan’s favourite) and foxgloves.

The snaps
The couple have entrusted their precious wedding memories to Alexi Lubomirski, the celebrated fashion photographer who took their engagement pictures.

Though he’s more accustomed to red-carpet events and high-fashion studios, Alexi will take the official portraits at Windsor Castle after the ceremony at St George’s Chapel.

The rings
When Harry described the engagement ring he’d designed for Meghan, he revealed it was “yellow gold because that’s her favourite”.

But there was another reason for the choice: ever since 1923, the royal family — including Charles and William — have used pure Welsh gold from the Clogau St David’s Gold Mine near Dolgellau to create wedding bands

The big question is whose example Harry will follow when it comes to choosing his own ring.

As royal tradition dictates, Wills doesn’t wear a wedding band — but Charles has worn one to mark both of his marriages, albeit discreetly on his little finger.

The honeymoon
One thing we know for sure is that Harry and Meghan love Africa.

They enjoyed their third date — and first holiday — in Botswana, and Meghan’s engagement ring features a diamond from the country.

For Harry, the continent also holds magical memories of rediscovering happiness after he lost his mother, while Meghan spent time in Rwanda as a global ambassador for World Vision.

Their most likely destination is Namibia, a Commonwealth nation that offers its visitors privacy and discretion (there’s a reason Angelina Jolie chose to give birth to one of her children there).

Harry fell in love with the country in 2015 when he spent the summer working there with the Save the Rhino Trust, and its safari destinations are so remote that many can only be accessed by chartered bush planes.

The stunning Hoanib Valley Camp (where the couple are rumoured to be staying) offers plenty of luxury, too.
