The SHOCKING moment a deer is hit by a car and nearly goes flying into oncoming cyclists has been caught on a mounted camera.

53-year-old Peter Flur’s footage that he took on Wednesday in North Carolina is a harsh reminder of the many dangers cyclists face on the road outside of distracted and dangerous drivers.

In the short clip, a group of riders can be seen cruising along a country road when a deer emerges and darts across the road only to be hit a black car driving in the opposite direction.

The collision sends the buck flying through the air, missing the cyclists on the other side of the road by mere inches.

“Holy s---, it was a deer. Oh my god,” Flur can be heard saying as he comes to terms with the confronting incident.

“I look up and see this thing flying at us,” the cyclist later told US new outlet The Charlotte Observer.

“For a few seconds, I didn’t even know what it was. ... It happened so fast, at that very instant, we just didn’t know,” he added.
