This is one of the best eyewitness accounts you will ever see.

A 40-year-old Park Ridge man was taken into custody in Logan, outside Brisbane, last night after trying to hold up a KFC store with a knife.

Police were able to apprehend the man with the help of a group of bystanders, who ended up knocking him out in their rush to diffuse the situation.

One of those bystanders was Vai Lefau, who livestreamed the whole thing on Instagram and then gave Channel 7 one of the all-time great eyewitness interviews.

Highlights include his take on his fellow concerned citizens: “When I got in there were already four to five blokes already in there. Two were holding golf clubs, trying to be Tiger Woods.”

Why he regrets only getting a water for the alleged offender after he was knocked out: “I said I’ll get some water, I could have got me another fizzy, I was like ‘ooooh I want to get some fizzy!’

And best of all, the moment he tries to get some vouchers from a rival KFC franchise: “KFC Marsden, shout out some vouchers! I want some vouchers man!”
