THE family of a man at the centre of a homicide case in Busselton have remembered him as a ‘kind, gentle person’ after his identity was today revealed by police.

Officers confirmed the man, who was found dead inside his house by a carer on Tuesday, is 31-year-old Samuel Darryl Riley.

In a short statement this afternoon his family wrote:

“Our family is devastated with loss of Sam who will be remembered as a kind, gentle person who would not harm anyone.

“If you have any small piece of information that may help in the investigation please contact the Western Australian Police.”

Homicide detectives yesterday called for CCTV and dash cam footage to help the investigation, which happened at a house on Carter Street in West Busselton.

Police would not confirm how the man died or the nature of his injuries, but answers are expected from the State pathologist by the end of the week.
